Hey everyone,

Can anyone tell me what this shoot is that's growing from the medium? It was very small when I got the plant, so I paid little attention to it and thought it was just part of the sphagnum moss at the time. After over a week though, it's grown like crazy and sticking out a lot.

The thing is, it doesn't look like part of the VFT at all to me, but as I'm new to this, I just wanted to double check whether this is a normal looking growth or some weed that managed to sneak its way into the pot?

Any ideas? Should I just leave it there to do its thing?

Thanks for any advice!

That's a very fat piece of something or another. I'd go to it's root to make sure the whole thing is out.

Thanks for confirming. Just managed to gently pull it out with what looks like roots and all.

Good. Sometimes they can come out a plant, especially if they're too close. And they can regrow from left behind roots.
