Why is the style of my sarrs flower super flimsy, thin, and floppy? I've been pollinating it over the past few days and it's only now starting to do that. Also, my S. Reptilian rose's rhizome turning brown where the old Phyllis is is attached. Will my plant be ok after the Phyllodia completely fall off the plant?

A picture as to what you are talking about would help. As far as the brown rhizome, if it is just where the leaves are attached, it is fine. If it goes deeper than that, you need to trim it off.

Sorry for the delay!

It's still very thin and wispy. Here's your pic:

Yes, it's not in adequate lighting. It's still too cold to put them outside and I only had a weak light on me that I could use.

Not enough light= etiolation. Etiolation = floppy, thin, stretched, weak & flimsy.

Oh, ok. Will the flower still make seeds?

Probably. But remember not enough light will make the plant weaker and weaker. And the flower will sap energy as well.

Looks a little etiolated to me as well. Additionally, Reptilian Rose is notorious for producing deformed flowers (for example mine didn't make pollen at all this year and I could only use it as a pod parent). The same issue is commonly seen in many other "weirdo" sarrs (e.g. some "lidless" clones). Also, unless your nights are still dipping below freezing, don't be afraid to throw those plants outside! Mine are growing just fine with 35 F nights.

Ok, well I place them outside yesterday and we just went from 30-40 degrees to 93 degrees very quickly (Wisconsin spring for ya) so all the new pitchers are drooping and the style on the oreophila flower literally shriveled and fell off. Will seed still be made?

Was it pollinated? And did the pollen have time to reach the ovaries?

I had been hand pollinating it for the first 3-4 days the flower was open. It was only the fourth or fifth day it started to droop.

I suspect the ovaries would have been fertilized by the time the style fell off. Hopefully you'll get seed.
