According to the growsundews website, you can grow sundews using cheap 4 foot fluorescent lights. Anyone tried this?
Do these lights provide enough brightness and correct color temperature?

They should work OK. But if you want superior, full spectrum, much longer lasting bulbs, these are what I use: http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/co ... cent-tubes

I haven't done this for sundews but that is what I use for my few neps.

Now my ventrata is also flowering!

Back before LED lighting was available, 2 tube or 4 tube 4ft fluorescent fixtures were the optimum way to go.
But I believe they have been completely replaced by the current generation of LED lights.
I never used to get color like I routinely see now in my plants.
That's just the 02¢ worth of an old fart.

@Shadowtski, are the LED lights that you're referring to the ones specifically built for growing plants or are they the new generation of basic LED shop lights?

I use both types and am happy with them.
I even use basic hardware store LED light bulbs, usually Daylight Color Temperature.

I have used cheap 4’ fluorescent bulbs for years. They work great. I use 6 bulb fixtures about 6” above the plants.
I’ll be trying LED bulbs very soon though as I’m in the process of setting up a new grow room. Hope they work as well as the fluorescent.
