I'm hoping to put my sarracenias under a wasp nest when the pitchers mature. 8-) Then I'll sit back, watch, and relax.

Oh wait, sorry, I meant yellow jackets. I do see wasps around here, but not as many as yellow jackets.

I must be getting them mixed up. Well, either one. Their nests are round, the size of tennis balls, with a hexagon pattern, and found in corners and cracks.

Rarely see any wasps or their kin in my Sarr. Leah Wilkerson. My Neps on the other hand .... eat well during the summer outside.

I have thought about putting my neps on my back porch - I think they would eat like kings, but I gave all of the nepenthes that I would be willing to sacrifice away at a local plant exchange.

Seems like majority of what they are catching are wasps / hornets, but the wasps they catch are not ones that I see flying around. I generally see paper wasps all over, but none inside the sarracenia. I've seen two ladybugs get trapped so far, the first one I was able to help escape :D

Holy macaroni I think this might be better than a dead wasp… a roach!!! This is probably the only sarracenia I have that’s opening is big enough for one. The first time my wife has given me an F- in photography for content!
