FYI - If anyone in North Carolina is looking for Sarracenia oreophila, I found someone who has a bunch of divisions for sale at decent prices.

If I had the space, I'd give Mike Wang a run for his money. :D As it is, these are the last plants that I plan to buy for a while. This past weekend, I had to water my entire collection from the rain barrel reserve: it took me an hour-and-a-half, and I burned though 20 gallons (75 liters) of water. I don't have enough rainwater storage capacity for more plants, and I'm trying to resist the urge to buy an RO unit.

I sold 8 pots of plants to a friend of mine today, so it was a net decrease of 3.

I didn't mention that Michael Sprouse gave me 21 oreophila seeds as freebies with my S. x 'Leah Wilkerson' order six weeks ago. As difficult as oreo's are to get in North Carolina, there's no way I'm going to pass this up. The seeds are stratifying in the fridge right now, will hit the dirt in a couple weeks.

After a ridiculous dry spell, I finally caved in and bought an RO filter. 2 days after I placed the order, it started raining again (of course...). Now my rain barrels are full, my emergency stash of gallon jugs is full, and it's rained enough that I haven't had to water my plants for the past week. To celebrate the abundance of water (and my birthday), I got a few more plants:

Venus flytraps
Sunrise

Sundews
Drosera binata 'Marston's Dragon'

Pitcher plants
Sarracenia var. rubricorpora - CZPlants Liz T
Sarracenia "Cazadero Trail"

Happy Birthday! Marston Dragon is one of the best sundews I own and is an over performer. I loves repots and does better in sphagnum. It also flowers prolifically.
