not sure why i waited this long to post, but a week ago or so, i got 8 black swallowtails, 1st/2nd instars
theyve all pupated, and i keep them in my hot upstairs shed, so they developed incredibly quickly.
usually it takes 2 weeks, but so far 3 have come out in 4-5 days. 1 emerged at night, and escaped.
two more emerged, and also escaped. i found all three in my sundew collection, near th window.
a few weeks back, ive also seen some monarchs emerging from my milkweed.
also, speaking of winged insects, apperntly ive got an infestation of pantry moths, so that sucks

Last time I grew butterflies was in second grade. The only butterflies I usually see here are white ones.

I'm assuming they weren't drinking the nectar from the flowers.

when they escaped, they were still inside
the photo of them on the leaf was after i had released them. the third flew away
probably should have made that clear

Oh, ok. I thought the sundews ate them.
