Hello all!

So I have a large nepenthes that's overdo for a repot that I want to get it done within this week. I think I'll be putting it in a large-ish ceramic pot, and I need an idea on what media I should use. If I could use all LF sphagnum moss I would, but I'm afraid it might get a bit expensive to use purely that, though I'd still like to do a mix containing it.
The plant's current media is LFSM with orchid bark, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I could add to reduce the amount of sphagnum needed?

Not an expert, but many use half perlite for aeration (and probably price!)

Perlite will absolutely be an ingredient, and luckily I already have some!

I use LFSM, perlite, coconut chips, and some pumice.

I don't think the pumice adds anything, and will most likely stop using it once I run out. The coconut chips cut down on cost and add aeration. There is a guy in michigan that grows a nepenthes only in coconut chips. I have a sangunea growing only in coconut chips as an experiment. It's doing fine, but not as good as it's counterpart in a mix medium.

I know many that use orchid bark (instead of coconut chips), but to me the orchid bark breaks down faster.

@DragonsEye mentioned using hydroton (expanded clay pebbles) for neps. I'm thinking about trying that for my ventrata.

Shoot, you could pot a ventrata in grass clippings and it would probably grow.
