Hey everyone,

I'm really getting into long leaf aroids but I don't know which one to start with. I want to start slow and then work my way up to Anthurium warocqueanum. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Wishlist:
any VFTs, cool sarrs, and Drosera w/ location data.

Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum) are one of the easiest, brain-dead simple aroids out there. Cheap too.

Blessed are the "cracked" ... for it is they who let in the light.

have heard Philodendron atabapoense are easy, but have no first hand experience

Ah. You didn't specify that initially. I wouldn't get fixated on finding a plant with leaves that look a lot like A. war. At that point, your being too picky for a starter/guinea pig plant.

Try some of the Alocasia, Colocasia, or Anthurium andraeanum (this one is an epiphyte).

Do you grow colocasia? I'm thinking about growing some in a stock tank.

Nah. All the ones I know of get far too big for an apt-dweller like me to contemplate.
