I used to bug my parents to get me a VFT whenever we went into the Boston Science Museum gift shop, and *checks watch* 30 years later, I finally saved up enough allowance money to buy one myself last month—a young DCXL potted in LFSM. I followed Matt and Leah's care instructions to the letter, so the little guy (Schlomo) is doing really well on my sunny east-facing front balcony. Two of the traps turned brown over the past few weeks but I'm not too worried, since the rest are happy and there's a nice big new one coming in. I have been alternating between top watering with a turkey baster and letting the planter sit in a tray of distilled water, depending on how chilly it is outside. He hasn't caught any bugs yet, so later today I will give him a rehydrated bloodworm to snack on while he waits.

I have really enjoyed browsing these forums over the past few weeks, and I hope I can contribute to the conversation once I have a little more experience. For now, I'll listen and learn! Image
