Between root cuttings and leaf cuttings in your experience is one faster than the other to make strikes or do they generally take about the same time?
Edit: I meant for this question mainly about drosera I guess I should have put that. Example like a Capensis or something where you could do either a leaf cutting or root cutting. Which would grow plantlets faster. Or is there any benefits of one over the other other than leaves are easier to get to rather than uprooting your plant every time you want to propagate?
Thanks for the responses.

VTF requires rhizome, takes about 1-2 months to strike.
I had big mouth leaf in sphag for almost 2 months and thought it was done, but did in fact strike

i have a couple pullings with root intact but who knows how long it would take

In my experience, the results are about the same for propagating Drosera through root and leaf cuttings.
Some species (D. regia) will propagate through root cuttings but not through leaf cuttings.
Some species (D. burmannii) will not propagate through either type of cutting. Stick to seeds.
Some species will propagate through flower scape cuttings.
As always, this is just my 02¢ worth.
YMMV

For me, they bud around the same time (as Mike said). However, root cuttings grow a lot faster than leaf. :?
