i was thinking of buying a villosa,i think it is an extreme highlander and might proove difficult,they are expensive and wondered if anyone had any experience with these and if they have could offer me any advice,photo would be cool

I myself don't have one but from what I've read about them they are slow growers and require ultra highlander conditions. You could probably get away with growing them in highlander conditions, but you might see some slow-down in growth. Where are you purchasing it from?

It s a Ultra high lander an if you can keep it as so or even as a Highlander i have found that it will grow very happily.
Your Humidity is the main issue Your Humidity HAS to be as High as you can keep it . Mine is growing in the coldest spot of my green house in its very own conditions ( in a sealed tank ). Just keep in mind if you buy a N. Villosa it might be 15 years before you will have a foot tall plant . It moves at a snails pace it is in no hurry .

Hi Corky,

I grow a few N. villosa and they are slow until they get big enough so that the pitchers can be fed some freeze dried bloodworms or flightless fruit flies.

They also like the very cool nights, getting down to from between 4C to 7C.

Mine really seemed to take off after I gave it a coffee treatment. I usually pour coffee through the villosa's potting mix about once every six months.
