What are the various ways I can propagate a cape flower stalk? Which method is better, soil or water?

I'd do them like leaf cuttings. Both would work. For leaves I usually get faster buds in soil.

Can I cut the stalk into one inch pieces and put those pieces in water?

Just barely tuck it under the soil. With part of it still able to get light. You could use chopped sphagnum moss as a thin top layer. I know a crazy guy called panman who uses a mini food processor to chop sphagnum. Crazy right?

I don't think so. I guess you could try, but I don't think it would work. It works for Root cuttings though

I have tried it and it seems to work, yet the other methods seem to work better

Now I want to experiment with mailing flowerstalks. I think it should work better than leaf cuttings. Root cuttings might work even better.
