This month, @Matt and Leah from The Flytrap Store are providing a UK Sawtooth II Venus Flytrap


From The Flytrap Store:

The "UK Sawtooth II" is an awesomely colorful and bright Venus flytrap variety, with unique forked "teeth" similar to the well-known 'Sawtooth' Venus fly trap and 'Dentate Traps' varieties, with cilia that varies between those of these two varieties. The bright-red coloring of the UK Sawtooth II trap interiors really stands out. The UK Sawtooth II Venus Fly Trap is also a good parent plant, producing more natural divisions than many other types of Flytraps.

Well, the leaf with the spider didn't do what I wanted it to do, so here is a different leaf with boogers all the way to the Promised Land.

If sundew goo can dissolve insect exoskeletons, how come our fingers escape unscathed?

The glue doesn't dissolve anything. It gets the bug stuck to the leave. The leaf then excretes enzymes that dissolve the proteins and it reabsorbs the bug soup. Not a fast process, and not something that an untrapped critter would need to worry about.

Interesting. Maybe we should try taping your finger to a leaf for a few days. An interesting experiment.

Nope. That was a case of "lost in translation". Any injuries you or anyone else may incur in your negotiations throughout the FTC forums are your own responsibility, even if said injuries are due to any neglectful words or typing I may or may not intend. You reading the previous statement is taken as your tacit agreement in perpetuity that I am to be held harmless of the consequences of your actions.
