Oh, I only changed to this because my other file went corrupt and my profile picture deleted.

Rocket Farms is a gardening company that is infamous in the CP world for selling the "death cube" VFTs with wildly false instructions, mainly targeted towards children.

Do they do intentionally? If yes, why?

Probably, and they probably do it to spread misinformation so that when their plant dies they buy it from them again over and over for money

You can see that the instructions say bright, indirect light, which will not work long term. These plants are mass produced via tissue culture, kept in big box stores under dim lighting, and watered with standard tap water once they get to the store. The are pretty much doomed from the start.

As far as deliberately spreading misinformation, I don't think that is the case. If you were to take one of these plants off of the shelf in Walmart and stick it outside under full sun, it would quickly fry to a crisp. Their instructions at least give it a, albeit small, chance of survival.

Their plants are also the reason a lot of people get into this hobby. Their like a gateway drug. If not for those death cubes at wal mart or Home Depot or wherever i don’t think as many people would ever come across a vft to realize how cool they are.

I found their instructions rather unspecific. So I did my own research. Most people don't, they just trust what it says.

I got my flytrap from Lowe’s (back when I didn’t know about death cubes). Now I have five from that one. The trap sizes reached about 1 inch last spring.

As soon as I got mine, I did a lot of research and came across this site, then I basically followed everything written on flytrapcare.com.

Most people can't be bothered. They think it's a "houseplant". You might as well buy cut flowers if you are going to kill your flytrap.
