my kid lost interest in helping w/ our plants, depression hit me hard over winter two year ago and we neglected the plants all but one tiny pot of pings lost. looks like I'm starting from sceatch w/ all the seeds we previously harvested. sigh lol

Kids do that lol.
On some real stuff* depression is one of the worse things I’ve ever fought against so your winning. The human mind is a much more dangerous neighborhood than any other. Cause the perceived enemy is already inside you.
I use plants to get me out of my mind and they seem to help.
I don’t have a big collection but I’ve got several small VFT Scarlatine’s.

I feel you. I deal w anxiety and depression. These plants are a double edged sword for me. They help keep my mind occupied and make me feel good when everything is growing well. It's a great sense of accomplishment for me... but then there are times like yesterday where they make me feel like the biggest failure in the world and I get obsessive to the point where I killed like 100 springtails thinking they were thrips and then cried over their little corpses floating in the water.

Similar boat. I battled debilitating depression for 20 years. I'm on the winning side of that battle now. Struggles continue but it is a victory.
