Can the media mixes be stored prior to nuking or is that not wise...

I think it's fine. I believe Jens stores his mixes pre-made in the freezer and ready to be used when he needs them.

Matt no i dont store any pre mixed media in the freezer.
But it is a good thread.
Today a friend from Germany who also make some TC told me that he was in a TC lab at a University where the People fill PP flasks with media after this they sterilize the bottle and let it cool down. Then they freeze the sterilized media and when they need it they just warm the bottle with hot water and fill sterilized Jars....

Note also that stock solutions- used to make media, or to store hormone solutions- can be refrigerated or frozen while not in use.

Once stock solutions are made they can be stored for ages frozen. Some of my micronutrient super stock solutions have been frozen for years. Mmmm maybe it is time to may some fresh ones.
