Can anyone tell me what this is? There are these white hairs growing right in the middle of the spatulata where the new leaves are coming out.

Thats normal. Its on Tokaiensis, and capes too. I think the function is it just helps protects new leaves??

A lot of sundews do it, it's a sign of dormancy. While spats don't necessarily have a dormancy period, if conditions aren't within an optimal range, essentially lower than normal photoperiod or temperature, they'll go into a sort of brumation. Not quite a dormancy, but slower than regular activity.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is that I make bad decisions.

It's weird because that seedling is growing the fastest out of all the others, so I don't know how it could be going into a "brumation".

I believe there are two types of "hair". I have seen hair on Filiformis, when going into domancy. But on Tropicals, it forms near the crown, and when they are growing.
