Indeed.

I think it really depends on your budget. If you just have a few CPs, maybe it's fine. But if you have a bunch (and overdo the propagation) you have to find something cheaper.

I used Besgrow when I had fewer plants, but it's too expensive for my huge collection now. I use Better-Gro, SuperMoss, and the no-brand Chilean and Peruvian sphagnum on Amazon and eBay (when I can find it at a reasonable price). All of this stuff has some roots, twigs, and leaves in it; I just pick out the major junk.

To stretch the moss, I'm trying out a new mix: 2 parts peat moss, 1 part milled sphagnum moss (the less-desirable bits, chopped up in a blender), 1 part perlite, and 1 part coarse sand. It makes a light, fluffy soil that feels "spongy" when put in pots and slightly tamped down. I'm still waiting for spring to roll around to see how my test plants respond (Venus flytraps and Sarracenia), but I expect they'll like it.

Just got my 40L Besgrow Spagmoss, the total was around 45$ for an amount that was way smaller than expected. 10x10x6 inches I think. Supermoss is half the price and you get 3-4 times as much. I haven't tried enough of Besgrow Spagmoss though.
