I was excited to get sprouts from a few seeds purchased on ebay. Are these strange little seedlings what you'd expect for D paradoxa?

No, not paradoxa. It looks similar to a Cephalotus seedling, but I believe that that is actually a type of cactus or similar succulent.

While I have no idea what D Paradoxa seedlings look like I'd have to agree with Dean I have a cousin who loves succulents/cactus and it looks almost identical to some of her seedlings. It's very cute though! Unfortunately you probably got scammed.

@plantnerdjules I agree with Nimbulan, those seedlings are definitely from dragonfruit.

Not mine, just pulled a pic from Google after checking into things to see if I could confirm paradoxa or not.

At least now I know for sure
Don't feel too bad about it, it happened to a lot of us. At least you didn't buy the variety pack with blue sundews and blue Flytraps. (I did, grew some nice basil)

Does that even exist?

Yes, at least it did a number of years ago. It was one of those seeds from China deals, total scam, but I didn't know better at the time.
