Now if they'd share some of that weather here. (It's been very warm the past few weeks here, and we didn't get the usual amount of precipitation this year.)

This is on top of the volcano on the big island. As I understand it, snow is not a super uncommon occurrence up there. 12" and blizzard conditions are, though.

I've heard from friends that there's an excursion you can do on the big island. They take you up the volcano as far as they can, you dress warmly of course, hats, gloves, scarves, coats, etc., and you ride a bike down the road all the way to the beach. Along the way it gets warmer, so you shed layers, until you end up right by the ocean in shorts and a t-shirt.
Takes a few hours, but start at about 12,000 feet elevation and snow, down to sea level and tropical conditions.

There's a similar excursion on Maui from the top of the Haleakala volcano on down. You see long groups of tourists trying to stay upright while rolling down along the edge of the long spiral road and hoping that their bike's brakes don't fail.

How do you bike on snow? (unless it’s a tricycle) A sled sounds better and more fun. :)
