When the capsules on my Drosera adelae dried, I shook out fine dust that hopefully includes seeds... but SO tiny!
Under magnification I can see some regular shapes - are these actually seeds?

I think its possible for D. Adelae to produce viable seed after self pollination, but from what I know, D. Adelae doesnt self pollinate without help. and that they kind of only produce viable seed when pollinated with pollen from another, genetically different D. Adelae.

Those do look like seeds though, so you could try to see of they will germinate. D. Adelae easily reproduces through their roots and leaf cuttings too, if you are trying to get more plants.

Thank you. I had two plants flowering at the same time. I don't know whether they are genetically different individuals. I got them as bare-rooted plants from an Australian CP nursery.

They had some help from a bumbling newbie trying to brush pollen from one flower to another. No idea f I did it properly though.

Yes I know they are easy to propagate from leaves or roots and I don't actually need any more D adelae! I'm seeking other species though

I thought this seed might be useful if anyone wants genetically different D adelae. Would the seed be of interest for the seed bank?

Though I'd say probably after test germinating some first. Would be a bit of a waste to send them halfway around the world just for them to be duds.

I'd certainly be interested in a packet of those if they're viable, just saying

So I'll do a germination test. Is it okay just putting a few seeds in a vial of distilled water? If viable, how long to sprout?
