I debated whether to clip them or not. On the one hand, all of those dead leaves give the hibernacula more protection from frost. On the other hand, I can't see through all of that mess to spot something going wrong during dormancy. I opted to clip them and stash the pots in the garage during the especially cold parts of winter.

This is Drosera Filiformis ssp Filiformis. It is hardier then Tracyi.

I trimmed of all of the leaves from last growing season to prevent molds from growing so the hibernacula will not die.

Spring has sprung, the hibernacula are opening up and there is late season frost on the way and that’s why they are not growing dewy leaves yet.

The hibernacula started to open up in late February of this year.

Some of them wake up early while the others fallow later in May.

Here's what my plants are up to so far:

Drosera filiformis var. filiformis - New Jersey

Drosera 'Dreamsicle'

They're already catching crane flies.

Drosera filiformis var. filiformis - North Carolina

I got two batches of seeds last summer and let them sit outside over the winter to stratify. They're coming along nicely. It'll be interesting to see how they compare to the New Jersey plants.

Drosera hybrida - Butterfly Valley, California

They woke up fairly early. I'm curious to see how they grow this year:

Will they produce fertile seeds?
Will they go dormant in July (like last year, when I got them) or will they pay attention to the local weather and wait until late September?
