I don’t really understand this but I have 17w and 30w Feit plant lights 6-10inches above my VFTs and my plants are certainly getting nice colors my light meter says 5000-6500? at plant level which is the same it picks up from outside. Idk what it means but this is the instructions with the meter. yes there’s a topolita sunflower. I have these variables and idk what they mean. Please help lol

What light meter do you have? The cheaper ones are notoriously inaccurate. (I can't load any of your photos, but it's probably an issue with my computer.)

Oh yeah, the problem with those meters is that they saturate at a fairly low light intensity. If your light meter says 5000-6500 under the lights, it's probably maxed out. You either need a more expensive light meter or a filter for the current meter (can also use a light filter that attaches to your phone).

I grabbed a photographic light-meter app for my cellphone and use it in the INCIDENT LIGHT metering mode.
With the film speed set at asa125 and the shutter speed set to 1/125sec, then with full sunlight shining down at it, your meter reading will be f16. This is the "Sunny 16 rule"
I have a photographic light meter that measures incident light, a Sekonic L308B. I tested the accuracy against this meter and the results are close enough to be usable.

Brightness relative to full daylight:
100% = f16 (EV15)
50% = f11 (EV14)
25% = f8 (EV13)
12% = f5.6 (EV12)
6% = f4 (EV11)
3% = f2.8 (EV10)
