While visiting the coast if North Carolina, I made a trip to the Green Swamp Preserve. There I saw several species of carnivorous in their native, wild environment. I saw Venus Flytraps, several varieties and genetic variations of sarracenia flava, sarracenia purpurea, sarracenia rubra, pinguicula lutea (or maybe primuliflora, I can't tell without a flower), drosera intermedia, drosera capillaris, and possibly two types of utricularia. All in a one our slog along the preserve's trail. I had hoped to find sarracenia minor, as I know it grows around there, but maybe next time.

FYI - In southeastern North Carolina, the pings are either caerulea or lutea; primuliflora is a Gulf-coast species.

Thanks. Then it was most likely lutea.

I notice that most sarrs are more robust and coppery in their native environment.
Although, the purps seem paler for some reason...
Flytraps and drosera still stay small.

Nice pics man! if I ever go anywhere with carnivorous plants, ill definitely take pics. Lots of interesting species you got there tho.

To see that sundew and its neighbors sits in water and thrive is very eye opening, inspiring new paludarium design…

The purps were pretty deep under the tall grass so they were somewhat shaded.

That makes sense. Most cultivated purps are grown in full sun.
