This morning I noticed a lot of my outside Drosera are shutting down for the coming Winter and forming hibernacula. These resting buds help plants survive Wisconsin cold weather.

I noticed a plantlet formed at the end of a flower stalk. It has no roots but appears to be forming a hibernaculum instead. I grow my collection with benign neglect so I didn't notice the new plantlet until now. I cut it off and planted it. We'll see if it survives and comes back next Spring.

This is a first for me with the instant hibernaculum. Has anyone else observed this on their temperate Drosera?
