Ok, some weeks ago I had a quick chat with Matt here on the forum regarding shipping in winter. He offered alternatives for shipping but I assured him that it is always warm at my house and they could just toss the box onto my front porch.

Sooo, in comes this freak, frigid weather. The likes of which has not been seen in these parts for 30 years, lmao.

Got email notification from USPS that it was delivered at 12 noon (I got the notification at 4). I left work early (yea try to explain that one to the boss.. I have to save my carnivorous plant!), and raced home, 5 hours after delivery. Haven't unpacked yet. I'm savoring the moment. :D

Ok before I tear into this box to see how things look, Matt, it's totally my own fault if anything got too cold. I shouldn't have been so smugg :P

Oh, I just got a cute capenisis and some live sphag. Going to wait until this weather breaks before I go on another buying binge

Hey Matt, I won't need to use all this lovely (and I do mean lovely) sphag at once. What do I need to do to keep the left overs alive?

It keeps pretty well in plastic bags. Or, if you want it to grow a bit, you can put it in a plastic food storage container and fill the bottom with water and put it somewhere with good lighting. It grows really well under lights. Also, keeping the humidity high will help it grow faster, so a deeper container will help with that.
