I don't know what Matt is injecting into his VFTs but these "starter" plants are something else. This is only 4 months worth of growth!

Nice! The huge burst of growth could be that you purchased it near the end of dormancy, but that is still a lot of growth!

Matt and Leah put a lot of care into their plants for the long term, keeping them outside, under natural sunlight, and paying attention to each plant. This translates to a plant that may be smaller on top compared to other sellers plants of equal age, but a much more robust rhizome that takes off with the proper care after the sale. All the plants I've gotten from them have thrived.
I'm actually seeing firsthand the care this week as Matt is working me like a dog with this greenhouse. It's neat watching Leah divide and pot up plants, and Matt knowing where every VFT cultivar and Sarracenia plant is without looking at the tag, knowing which are seed grown, often knowing who he got the plant or seed from originally.
Definitely a good investment, buying from FTS.

I absolutely agree, 100 percent. FTS may sell smaller plants, but they sure do burst with growth once they are established into their new home.
Forgot to ask, how is the trip going so far? It sounds like a lot of fun putting together the greenhouse :D

+1 for the Flytrap Store. The 25 (read 100) baby flytraps I got this spring were less than the size of a nickel. Now they are 2 inches across and up. And the cultivars I bought are just booming! It has got to be the love spent on them.

For sure this was near the end of dormancy and I had them under lights indoors the whole March until it was warm enough to put outside.

Great to hear you are able to see and experience Matt and Leah's hard work first hand. Their work and care are definitely appreciated on my end. Your work is appreciated as well Dean! Sneak some photos of the green house for us

I wonder if Matt knows the more he works you like a dog the more vfts that will be mysteriously missing when you leave.

Funny, all my other traps from FTS are awesome. Alien is still struggling to grow… I’ll give it time since I know if it comes from Leah and Matt, it’s gonna be quality !
