I use small pots for many many plants they don't get full size until i give them more room to grow.

seed small pots like this let them grow.

then when you need pull some out and pot them.

Oh wow, can you pull out just one plant at a time? Or is it an all-or-nothing type of deal? I imagine the roots must be pretty tangled...

i use fine chopped spag and i use the back of a plastic spoon to dig. you will lose some fine roots but the big main root is all that matters.
