I have some wild moss growing in my yard (in a tray that stays wet as a water source for my honey bees). Would it be OK to use it for CPs? I just grabbed some, chopped it up, and am going to try to grow it using the methods I have seen for sphagnum. I do not know what species it is by it seems to have fairly long fibers, see the pictures.

Sorry, but that would not be the best of ideas.
That is carpet moss I believe, and they will overgrow and possibly "choke out" your CPs. Carpet moss is actually notorious in the world of CPs. Here is an article on it, made by Leah @FTS:
