Temps are getting pretty crazy here in the Inland Northwest, but sarrs are still looking good for the moment. Supposed to get to 108 in a couple days .

Most early season plants are now producing purely phyllodia while the leucos/leuco hybrids are starting to make decent pitchers. Alatas are looking good now as well.

Sarr season is definitely dying down... lots of slow growth and some flavas/mooreis seem to already be headed off to dormancy. Leucos are still looking great, though, and a few flavas continue to produce decent traps.

How do you keep them from browning slightly at the pitchers' tips?
Thanks!

I've noticed that the pitchers will brown when exposed to extreme temperatures. This summer when things got over 100 F I had lots of issues with crisping pitchers. Luckily the extreme heat didn't last too long and they're producing nice pitchers before dormancy again.

Sarracenia season is nearly at an end, at least here in Eastern Washington. Plants have already experienced a couple frosts and growth has mostly come to a halt. A few good pitchers are still up, though. In a couple/few weeks I’m going to clean these plants up and put them in a warmer area before the extreme cold comes.

Your sarrs are looking ACE! Thanks for sharing! If we get any sun on the west side I'll share a few. Mostly there's a bunch of collapsed over pitchers - "bellies full". But there is some nice fall growth happening, so maybe I can capture that (between rain bursts).
