The one in the first photo has wide petioles, but the traps are a good size and it gets a 14 hour photoperiod. Strange.

That particular flytrap just has "wide-body" genes. The Low Giant cultivar is like that: wide, low-lying petioles even during summer.

My rescue looks almost exactly identical to that, though it might be because they could be from the same TC batch.
