Well, they disperse water into tiny droplets. The area is enclosed (a grow tent). The only reason I didn’t jump on the link you sent is the unit is $100. I am thinking I can rig something up that will water the media directly for a lot less than that. But I do thank you for the info

I probably could have made one on my own and hooked it up to home assistant, but i don’t want to waste time.
.

I've used a version of this for vacation watering, and it has worked fine. The tubing smelled horrible, though - very chemically, so I soaked it in water for awhile before using it. There weren't any adverse reactions after I used it (caveat: I was using it for houseplants, not CPs).

I've also diy'd a more 'tailored' approach to water a whole grow shelf as that ready-made jobber doesn't have much 'pump' action.

Whatever option you go with, I'd suggest testing it out a bit before deployment, and if possible set up maybe a remote camera on the plants so you can monitor them. That way, if anything goes wrong you can call someone up to help shut down the system or give the plants emergency water.

Yes, I agree and I am doing the check right now.
Every 3 days for 3 mins is enough to mimic the flooding of the pots and then subsequent partial drying out. The top plants drip on the bottom ones so saves on pressure drop. the water drops about an inch in the bucket each run. Plenty of margin but I will verify results on Thursday.
Thanks to everyone for your advice and shared experiences

How'd it turn out?

Personally, I think with a 99% humidity environment, if you're watering every 5 days, you could set them in a little extra water and make it 10 days without much of an issue. I usually keep mine in ~70% humidity and water every 3-4 days (net pots). Occasionally I forget to water them, meaning I make it 7 days between waterings, and haven't noticed an issue yet. Sure would make me nervous on a 10 day trip though, lol.
