So, the first picture is of some flava rubricorpa that I have sprouted from the seed bank. The second is some of my flava x purpurea seeds that I harvested. The were planted at the same time and on the same medium. I have noticed both times that I have planted the rubricorpa seed, it produced a long stem before the two cotyledon leaves. Other sarrs that I have sprouted (flava & alata) don't have a stem this long.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why the rubricorpa produce these stems?

Possibly to get its leaves above some other foliage for more sunlight exposure.(educated guess)

Both pots are side by side under the same grow light. The stem is from the seed, so it is something unique to that.

I know, but could it be possible that the seed grows that stem right away so that the seedling gets more sunlight?
