Are there any tropical carnivorous plants that I can grow indoors in Arizona? I can use a small clear plastic tote, but I would like to grow a capensis or a nepenthes on a bright windowsill so I can look at them easily. Is this possible?

A lot of the Nepenthes can be grown in front of a bright window, miranda, ventricosa, alata, "Lady Luck", and many others.

You're on your own to figure that one out. I had no problems growing Sarrs, Capes, and a VFT indoors in Utah, but none of those are as tropical as a Nep. I did have a Nep indoors for a bit, but it was before I knew better, and planted it in potting mix; it died. Plus, compared to Arizona, Utah is dang near subtropical.

Indoors? On a windowsill? Perhaps give a ping a try as long as the sill doesn't get the brutal sunlight. If you're up for it, do a terrarium. Easy way to keep humidity up and LEDs do not put out a lot of heat.

I live in AZ zone 8b and I have had my d capensis and n Gaya for about 3 weeks now both seem to be doing well. I’m new to CPs but from what I can tell my plants are doing ok. The nepenthes is forming new pitchers one just opened actually and another is dropping. The sun dews are covered in dew and making new leaves fast. Oh and I do mist the nepenthes a little bit but I really don’t think it does much but I still make sure to try to keep the new forming tendrils wet.so I would get some plants and try for yourself

Nice looking plants. You want to be careful with the nepenthes in a tray. If it sits in water for too long it will develop root rot.
