I have never seen anything come up from seed just assumed that i needed genetically different pollen.

IIRC most banana cultivars are sterile, or only produce sterile fruit. Banana seeds are quite large so you'd know if you found one.

I've tried buying banana seeds online but have never gotten a single one to germinate. It's still one of my life goals :b
