Hi all, new guy here looking for help spawning these little monsters.
Bought a 100 pack from a local seller on eBay to try to make a larger style display.
The pot I'm trying to use is one of those window sill planters bout 45cms long and 15cms high.
My potting mix I put together is about 75% peat moss and 25% perlite.
I've had it on my window sill since starting but now have read on these forums that they should actually be outdoors?
I have had the seeds in for about 3 weeks now and I have been using demineralised water to mix the dirt mix and in the base of the small tray tray.
I would not say the dirt is overly wet but more damp
So the problem I'm having is that they are starting to get some furry mould on some of the seeds. By the looks of it it's only early stages as I have been monitoring for activity most days.
I have heard I can get some spray to clear the situation and will try that. Do I just spray a light layer on the top of the dirt and leave it at that? I have also now moved the pot out doors to see if I can get airation through the first as I also hear that mild occurs if the first is not getting enough air.
If this turns south and it doesn't work can I reuse this mix or do I have to compleatly toss it and start again?
Is there anything I should add to my potting mix?
Will this type window sill planter work?
Have added photos.
Thanks so much.
