Can someone help me understand what a bare root rhizome is and how it differs from just an unpotted plant? I’ve seen people say the former is only for experienced growers but I’ve not really found a detailed explanation on why. Thanks!

Bare root typically means they washed the roots free of any soil or long fiber sphagnum moss. The roots are typically wrapped in a damp paper towel, newspaper, or sometimes even moist long fiber sphagnum moss. Unpotted is used less frequently, but means the same thing. So a long answer to your question to say in my experience, there is no difference between the two phrases.
