Well, if it does not stop freezing here I certainly will not grow any two inchers. Some years are better than others.

Seems the traps have gotten smaller, south west Giant did take 3rd place though. Other than that the scores are the same.

As of April 24, 2021 the largest traps are:

1. GJ Goliath- 1.54 inches
2. DCXL- 1.52 inches
3. South West Giant- 1.49 inches

Love the tall ones. I need to get some DCXL. Spring is too cool here this year to get any record breaking traps.

I need to get a DCXL as well! I guess the classic B52 + King Henry are really no match for this new flytrap.

DCXL is such a great growing flytrap! I started off with a small one from Matt 7 years ago and now have 8 pots of them! So far the biggest they got this year is about 1 1/2". Not bad.

Now we are putting on some size! DCXL has taken 1st!

The leader board as of May 8, 2021, is now:

DCXL- 1.60

GJ Goliath- 1.55

South West Giant- 1.53

Arching Flat skinny Leaves- 1.51
(added this one cause it’s above avg and not a lot is known about this clone.)

Yay, go DC XL! For me, DC XL usually does have the largest spring traps, with SD Kronos coming in second and taking over the lead as the DC XL spring traps fade away in late summer or fall. Once SD Kronos gets fully established and at maximum size, it is a beast of a plant.
