I bought this plant from carnivorousplantstore.com and it's supposed to be a Big Mouth venus flytrap. I thought Big Mouth flytraps were supposed to have a low growth habit? I know they CAN get upright growth but this is pretty excessive! The plant is growing in a south facing windowsill which receives 7 hours of direct sunlight a day (I am growing it here until the weather is warm enough to put outside). Thanks for your help!

If it was sold to you from a reputable seller as a Big Mouth, then it most likely is.
As to the tall leaves, most flytraps grow tall leaves in the Spring. They're reaching for the sun to help them wake up. However, they also grow long leaves to reach for the light when they are not getting enough light, and they don't get enough light on a sunny windowsill.
As long as your temps are staying above freezing at night, put it outside. If it drops below freezing, bring it in at night. Bright, indirect light outside is much better than direct windowsill light when it comes to VFT's.

I’d agree with Chef. All my Dionaea are beginning to grow tall, upright petioles for the season (with a few mutant exceptions such as ‘Alien’ and ‘Kim Jong-Un’) whether they’re generally known to be ground hugging plants or not.
