I have more gemmae due tomorrow, so don't waste any time to send your SASE. Gemmae definitely have a shelf life, let's get them to you as quickly as possible.

Order received.
Your order number is 0352.
I'll PM you shortly with a mailing address for your SASE.
Thank you for your order.

For Sarracenia or Dionaea seeds, I strongly suggest you use a non-machinable stamp on your return envelope. (The inside one) For Drosera, Pinguicula, and Utricularia seeds, the extra postage is not necessary.
If you can't find a non-machinable stamp, I suggest a forever stamp plus a 15 cent stamp or two regular forever stamps on your return envelope.
The USPS machinery loves to crush those seeds.

Reminder to all:
Please remember return address on all envelopes.
Please remember to write your Forum username and order number somewhere on the envelope or in a note.
I don't have access to a cross reference of real-world names linked to usernames.
Remembering these things helps me fill orders quicker.
Thank you.

Happy growing,
Dean

Chef,
I might have some roseannas enough for a pack. LMK if you would like these. Maybe we could also try runners of utrics or leaf pullings of genlisea?

We're experimenting with the gemmae, the donor is harvesting and sending within 24 hours to get them to my fridge as quickly as possible. With good care, we can get a decent shelf life of maybe 6 weeks, 8 if they have excellent care and the USPS doesn't delay them.
With leaf pulling or stolons, I think we'd have considerably less time. Maybe even less than 4 weeks, even with excellent care. I think pullings, cuttings, and stolons would be better off for trades and giveaways, so that they can be harvested and sent off to their final destination quicker.
If you want to donate roseanna gemmae, and need the address, shoot me a PM.

Adding perishable pullings, etc. to the seed bank would significantly increase the amount of time it takes to manage it. These are best handled on an individual basis. If you want to offer some pullings, you can do so and still follow the SASE protocol.

They should be. They were donated very soon after harvest, and put right in my fridge when they arrived. As soon as I noticed the postman hadn't picked them up, I put them right back in the fridge until Monday.
Just to be safe, sow them as soon as you get them, or at least throw them in the fridge until you can get to them, but not too long.
