Hi All

I have a new plant. I have repooted it by

1:1 (ish) perlite and moss
Wet the soil mix a few times with distilled water
Placed plant in the soil and pot.

My question is the plant looks very healthy and i can see the soil it was in has a nice layer of moss (green) on top and looks ok.

I literally just placed the plant into a hole in my soil and didnt break away the old soil as it looked good and the plant looks good.

sounds ok?

Hopefully you can see from the pictures attached

Looks great! Flytraps aren't at all sensitive to having their roots exposed and do enjoy having fresh, clean media around their rhizomes, so I usually recommend cleaning them off entirely free of soil when repotting. However, it doesn't look like there was much old soil left, so it should be totally fine.

Update

my new plant is still alive, even caught a fly for the first time!

The blackened traps i am assuming are normal, i have a couple of strong growing ones there and i think it is doing ok.

Sits on a nice sunny spot on my windowsill so i can protect it a bit and seems ok to me.
