Hi,
I have been growing my CPs in a pure long fibered sphagnum moss mix for as long as I remember, since that’s the only thing readily available in my area, but recently on YouTube I have seen growers use a peat, perlite, pumice and coarse sand to a 1:1:1:1 ratio mix. At first I sticked to my old mix but over time I saw that some of my Venus fly traps and sarracenia weren’t showing great results with the mix so now, I thought I’d change to the new mix most carnivorous plant growers are using... My question is that instead of coarse sand, can I buy aquarium sand from a store and wash it myself with distilled water at home and use it?
