I’m in FL and this filiformis was doing well. Luckily I made some leaf cuttings and propagated it. But now it’s doing this. Any ideas ?

Those are Hibernaculum, but that only happens in the winter? It happens when they go dormant. Has it been unusually cold where you are?

Definitely hiberniculum. Which is good news. Did this just start because that would be unusual. The black part is likely some cold damage. They should start opening up soon. I gave some that just put up their first leaves.

Sometimes it just happens, it's what the plants do normally, even if it's not normal for that type.
These are all D. intermedia "Cuba". Subtropical, no strat or dormancy necessary, all in the same pot with the same conditions, but you can see that a couple decided to enter dormancy. One recently woke up and one is still sleeping.
