Hey guys,

I purchased this flytrap "starter" around the beginning of 2020. When I received it, the plant was pretty small, about 1.5 inches in diameter or so in 2.5 inch starter pot. I've been repotting all of my flytraps this week and I was aiming to divide this guy into several different plants. I was blown away by the fact the entire cluster was a single rhizome that hadn't divided yet. The plant itself got pretty big in the summer but I never would have guessed how much the plant would grow in a single season. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I can't wait for this one to wake up. I hope it turns into a monster.

No, it was an ebay vendor. Honestly the plant was smaller than FTS starters I've received.

My Big Vigorous flytraps are the same way. They rarely produce divisions, and their rhizomes get huge.

Your flytrap is a good candidate for leaf-pull propagation.

Yes, got this starter G16 from FTS in June. By December 31st it had turned into 2 mother plants, a huge cluster of smaller traps and like 6 more smaller divisions. It is so vigorous and I loved watching it do its thing. My first cultivar so it holds a special place in my heart. Glad its a badass!
