This past fall as the temperatures in my area started to drop, I had to start moving my tropical drosera inside. The plants were mainly seed grown Capensis but I had no where to put them because I live in a row home that doesn’t have very many windows.
I decided to make a new setup in my basement that is relatively simple that I would like to share. I used a clothes hanging rack to hang a LED light about 12 inches above a 1020 tray. LED light is on a timer and the humidity and temp is around %50 RH and 65-70 F.
I actually prefer using an LED light to grow my drosera that are indoors as opposed to growing them on a windowsill. The LED light I am using is a 175 W Feit full spectrum that I was able to find for just $100 on Facebook marketplace. Happy with performance of light so far, although it does give off considerable heat.
As the temperature starts to warm up, I am going to acclimate all these plants outdoors and then use the light for something else until next fall when I will have to bring them all indoors again!
