Hello, my first carnivorous plants just arrived today! I have been researching meticulously in preparation, which led me to this amazing forum. I am very excited to begin this journey, in which my first three plants is a Mississippi pitcher plant, a filliformis sundew, and a Venus fly trap(which has been delivered unnamed). They are very small at the moment, but seem to have been shipped very well. The only thing I underestimated on was the soil, but I will get some today, other than that I’m so happy! :D

Welcome to the forum! Go California (woot woot)!

Your plants look a little rough from shipping, but should get a lot better. The only question I have is are those pots glazed (or even clay at all, they may be plastic). Clay / terracotta plants can leach minerals into the soil, meaning some bad juju.

Good luck!

Yeah I was going to put them in clay pots, but fortunately read about that beforehand, these ones are plastic :D
