Hey guys so I decided to try my hand again at seed growing sarracenia, I did it once but stratified the seeds in my fridge for 2-3 months. This time around I am going to have ~1k seeds arriving from Josh lynch @flytrapking. I have just stratified three varieties that I got from him a week or two ago, these ~90 seeds I wanted to stratify outside as I don’t have the space in the fridge; I want to cover them with a plastic bag with some holes for ventilation or with a plastic storage bin.. here are what temps are looking for me the coming days, do you guys think that leaving them outside will be okay? Also the Leah Wilkerson x Hurricane creek white ones cells were not fully packed when I placed them on top and ended up adding some more media on top of them to even them up to the cell, will this impare their growth? The other 6 rows the seeds are sprinkled on top. Yes I sterilized the media before hand and rinsed it out with distilled water. Thanks so much I’m advance!!♥️

If you have the winter weather it takes outside, it should work just fine. The way i stratify, is i fold a paper towel to fit in a zip lock bag, mist it down with water add seeds then a light mist of sulfur fungicide and place in the fridge, takes up very little room.

As long as you didn't bury the seeds more than about 1/4th of an inch, the should be OK.
Most plant seeds have some stored food within the seed that they can break down for energy to grow at first, allowing them to push up through the soil. Carnivorous plant seeds don't. The sprout and immediately need to begin to photosynthesize. They have a little energy to start, but they need the light to continue.
