I left my nepenthes ventrata outdoors and realised one of the leaves turning yellow and red and from what other peoples said that it could be related to sunburn but some said it could be normal for the type of plant they are. could anyone help?

If you left it out in bright light, the reddening could be from sunburn if it happened within a short period of time. Some pictures would help to determine the problem more accurately.

Looks like sunburn to me. I cooked my ventrata last summer (in addition to about freezing it last spring). It's still hanging in there but this summer it is only getting early morning sun and then shade the rest of the day. This Atlanta sun is just too hot for it.

Agree. I too cooked my Nepenthes when I first moved to Oregon. I thought that full sunlight through a clear greenhouse panel would be good for them but they got burned badly!

I made the same mistake with the California sun. She burnt pretty bad. I learned real fast early morning sun then shaded the rest of the day.
