Ive done alot of research on what soil to use but I've seen so many answers and I'm confused on really what to use... i live here in NZ and I heard that the sphagnum moss is really good so I was thinking of using this with a mix of perlite.

I’m surprised that no one responded to your post.
In the Savage Garden book, Peter D'Amato recommends
...about 70 to 80 percent New Zealand or other high-quality long-fibered sphagnum moss; the rest of the mix is a combination of fine orchid bark, perlite, and tree fern (osmunda) fiber. Another good mix is one part long-fibered sphagnum to one part tree fern fiber or orchid bark.
I highly recommend this book.
