Hi everyone

Just joined after reading quite a few threads and seeing loads of amazing pictures of your plants.

My daughter is now obsessed with VFT so thought I'd join to help me care for ours we bought from.... Amazon lol.

I also planted some seeds with her which are apparently heliamphora?? After reading some threads im guessing they're not. Probably just cress πŸ˜… absolute beginner so just hoped for the best in an egg carton and surprisingly they're growing extremely well. Assuming they need bigger pots now though. I'll try to add some pictures maybe someone knows what they are..

Greetings anyways 😁

Welcome to the forums, Ian! Glad you decided to join us. Sorry about the fake seeds. It's pretty unbelievable how many people come here posting photos of seeds or plants grown from seeds they bought labeled as carnivorous plant species only to find out they're not.

Good growing to you!

Clover πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

They only cost a couple of quid so no harm done and they kept the little one occupied for short while

Thanks 😊

by the way, there's this seed bank in which you can request seeds once a month, you can currently request class 0 seeds as you are a new member but if after a month (and 5 posts ) you gain access to class 1 seeds and after 3 months and 25 posts you gaub access to class 2 seeds and so on. i suggest to start with drosera capensis or drosera binata. just as a rule of thumb, you're never going to get 100 seeds for 5 dollars unless they are a common species of capes. also never buy any seeds with a listing that looks like "FIOLTY Seeds Package: 10Pcs Rare Bonsai Seeds Venus Fly Trap Dionaea Garden Seeds" or "20Pcs Nepenthes Seeds Garden Balcony Roof Bonsai Carnivorous Pitcher Plants - Garden Flower Seeds Non GMO - Seeds for Planting an Indoor and Outdoor Garden Rose (20PCS) Nepenthes Seeds" (also, welcome!)
